Vote BIOSTRIKE at ‘El Temps’ citizen science contest

El Temps magazine is holding a contest to choose the best proposal of citizen science project. DIY BIO BCN, of which ICN2 researcher Daniel Grajales is a member, participates with the project BIOSTRIKE Open Antibiotics Discovery. The winner will be chosen by an open vote.

ICN2 Doctoral Student Daniel Grajales, together with the rest of members of DIY BIO BCN community, is taking part on a citizen science contest organised by El Temps magazine. The winner of the best potential citizen science project will be elected by a public vote through the official website. Under the name BIOSTRIKE Open Antibiotics Discovery, DIY BIO BCN’s project t is about teaching people how to cultivate bacteria in order to find antibiotics and inviting them to do it themselves.

ICN2 is involved in another project participating in the contest: Nanodivulga UB. Bringing Nanotechnology closer to society. Our Institute is collaborating with Universitat de Barcelona, UAB and CESIRE in a part of this project called Nanoeduca which has the aim to introduce nanoscience and nanotechnology at High Schools. This initiative is in the category of already running citizen science projects and the winner will be chosen by a jury.
