ICREA Prof. Stephan Roche is Editor-in-Chief of new journal JPhys Materials

On 27 February the IOP launched three new open access journals. At the forefront of his field, ICREA Prof. Stephan Roche has been selected as the first Editor-in-Chief of the new JPhys Materials.

The IOP, home of the respected Journal of Physics series, has launched three new high-impact, open access journals. In recognition of the increasingly interdisciplinary nature of research, these journals will focus on research covering three aspects of the physical world tipped to shape the future of our plant: energy, materials and light.

ICREA Prof. Stephan Roche, leader of the ICN2 Theoretical and Computational Nanoscience Group has been selected as the first Editor-in-Chief of the new JPhys Materials, which will showcase the most significant and exciting developments in materials science research.

Together with JPhys Energy and JPhys Photonics, the long-term aim of the new series is to connect existing and emerging research communities and address high-impact themes within the physical sciences. It represents a community-oriented approach driven by the needs of scientists rather than funders, institutions or for-profit corporations. Each of the three new journals operate on open science principles to encourage maximum collaboration, reproducibility and dissemination of research.

All three of these journals will open for submissions in April 2018.
